Fine Arts

I just wanted to reach out to all our amazing Elbert parents – to say hello and let you know how excited I am to have your child in my class! If any of you are willing to help make Art Awards, please email to let me know.

Fifth grade parents, your children will be working on Kids’ Tag Art as our first artwork! Please ask you child about this, and feel free to contact me via email with questions about this fundraiser. More info on this program will be sent home soon.

I also plan on participating in Artsonia.com with every grade level this year, which is another fundraiser that allows you to purchase your child’s artwork on a variety of items (i.e. coffee mugs, t-shirts, etc.). If you are willing to come in to capture artwork for this program, please email me.

I look forward to an amazing year with your child, and can’t wait to see what they discover about themselves through their art-making this year!

Chorus

General Music-

It’s exciting to be working with our students through music. All students can express themselves through playing instruments, singing, moving and creating music. Students in each primary grade level have the opportunity to perform in an annual performance, such as; the Kindergarten end of the year concert, The 1st grade Thanksgiving Show, and the 2nd & 3rd grade Winter Holiday Concert.

Upper grades have many opportunities playing instruments, like Orff Xylophones and percussion, recorders, ukuleles, brass family instruments and 4th/5th Hand Bells, and 5th grade Strings, (schedule permitting.) Students are encouraged to enjoy singing and acting in 3rd-5th grade, in our Elbert Eagle Chorus. They perform at school and several community events.

Chorus-

Chorus is open to all 3rd – 5th grade students.

Students audition in September and prepare every Tuesday and Friday morning 7:45-8:10 a.m. for our winter concert, Carols in the park, Community Fest of Winter Haven, our Spring musical, and United Way of Polk county.

Hand Bells-

Hand Bells is a rigorous performing ensemble of approximately 16-17 students in 4th and 5th grade that work with counting and ringing a 4 + octave set of English Hand Bells. Auditions start in mid September. Rehearsals are Mondays and Thursdays 7:45-8:10 on the Elbert Stage.

Performances are held during our winter and spring concerts.

5th grade Strings-

Students in 5th grade can join Strings, schedule permitting. Students must provide their own violin or cello based upon the Instrumental Strings Specialist. Performances are held during the winter and spring concerts.
